My 'official' scrapbooking journey began in 1999 after winning the very first Creating Keepsakes' Hall of Fame contest. Since then I worked my little fingers to the bone creating pages for the magazine and then eventually for QVC, working with Lisa Bearnson and Kristy Banks (crazy fun times!). After six years of 'being paid to scrapbook' (really?), I moved to the 'behind the scenes' of the industry, creating art for CK's Kit of the Month program. I also managed to mix in a couple of Cricut cartridges and teach from time to time. After CK, I created art for Silhouette.
I have no official schooling in Graphics Design. (Hello??? Computers were barely making their way into colleges 'back then'.) I taught myself how to use Illustrator (+Photoshop) on my own in a sort of 'trial by fire' scenario to create my first Cricut cartridge. Luckily, I enjoy figuring things out.
In 2010 I started my own business creating art primarily for digital craft cutters--with a little bit of other 'fun' mixed in here and there. I designed the Turquoise edition for Becky Higgins' Project Life and additionally create kits on my own site to use with Project Life as well.
I love being with my family most, with traveling and photography coming in at a close second and third. I love listening to a wide variety of music while working--from Frank Sinatra, to ABBA, to Def Leppard or U2, to Ingrid Michaelson, to show tunes. (And yes, I do admit to loving 70s disco music.)
I really love doing what I'm doing right now because I get to create fabulous stuff and connect with people all over the world! It's pretty sweet.
